Playing at the Park

The weather was really nice yesterday, so we went to the park for a little while. It was really fun. The boys both enjoyed the swings. Ev and Cael both used the slides too. Ev's favorite part was eating the bark chips that cover the ground. Cael just likes to run around. I wish that we lived close enough to walk to the park. That would be perfect.

So Not Fair

Last night after we got home from dinner Cael climbed over the baby gate. Not fair. I don't think it will be something that he does all the time, but when Grammy is upstairs and he wants to join her, he will just get up there himself. It is funny how he gets over because that is how I get over it. I just hike my leg over it and step over it. That is how he figured that he should do it too. He climbed over the gate on Tuesday night too, but I didn't see it. I got it on video last night, but it is really poor quality, so I will try to get him doing it later.

Cool Stuff

On Saturday I went to a going out of business daycare yard sale. It was so awesome. They had so much stuff. I needed to get a high chair, done. As you can see in the pictures, Ev loves it. Cael has also tried it out. Not a bad purchase for $15. We also saw this cool shelf with cubbies. I loved it so that I could get the boys toys organized a little better. Plus, it is a lot cuter to look at than baskets with overflowing toys. I tried to convince Adam that we could use it as a tv stand too, but we can't fit the cable box and other components in the shelves so that idea got nixed. I'm sad because it is really cute and would cut out another piece of furniture.

11 Months Old

I can't believe it, but Everett is 11 months old. He is so cute, so funny, and such a Momma's boy. He is a complete joy and great addition to the family. He fights back with Cael and loves to snuggle and eats everything. We love him.

Cool Clothes

I've never had this experience before because Cael has always let me pick out his clothes for him to wear. That was until this morning.
He spilled some water on him jammies, so he took them off. I told him that it was too cold to go without clothes, so he'd have to get some different jammies to wear until he got a shower. While I was putting his wet jammies away, Cael grabbed these.

He looks so hot, I know. I love when kids start dressing themselves and they always want to wear their favorites, regardless of if they match. I can't wait for more days like this.

ABC's

Here is Cael saying his ABC's today after school. You have to turn the volume up because he says them very low. I love the way he said W. He still skips some letters, but I think that he is doing really well. He wouldn't stand still while I was recording him, so I hope you don't get sea sick watching the video.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day. I love you guys. Here are some cute shirts that Grams (that is what Cael calls Grammy) got the boys. These aren't the best pictures, but I always think that they are the cutest.

ABC's

Last night I was changing Cael's poopy diaper while he was sleeping. Yes, I'm that good. While I was doing it I noticed that he was talking, so I listened very closely to be able to understand him. He was saying his ABC's. By the time that I understood what he was doing he was saying S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. It was so cute. Cael is still learning them, so I'm not sure that anyone else would have figured out what he was saying. I love that I heard it though.

This is a funny picture of Cael sleeping. It wasn't from last night, but I needed to add a picture to make my post complete.

He Can Do It

Cael can pee standing up. He is getting really good at it. He doesn't stand close enough sometimes, so that makes a little mess. But I'm glad that he got it pretty quickly.
He also went to the bathroom all by himself on Sunday. I heard him in the bathroom, so I ran back there just in time to see him flushing the toilet. He went in there by himself, put the lid up, pulled his pants down, and did his thing. Yay.
Don't get me wrong, he still has accidents. But yay for Cael.

Here is Everett walking some more. He is getting so good. You even get to see him stand up all by himself. He loves to be like his brother, so he has to have a sippy cup too. If he doesn't have his own than he tries to steal Cael's. Than that is a big ol' fight.

Crazy Child

Everett can now stand up without the assistance of furniture or walls. He is getting so quick at walking and he can turn and change direction easily. He still amazes me daily. I love him.

6 Teeth

Everett finally cut another tooth. He cut his second bottom tooth last night. Yay. He was a very clingy this week, so I'm hoping now that his tooth isn't hurting him, he will be in a better mood. What is up with so much time in between his teeth coming in? He got four at the end of November and nothing since that. I'm just glad that he is acting less needy.

How To Pee Standing Up

We are trying to teach Cael how to pee standing up, any advice? He did it for me after school today, but most of the time he just fights me and slams the toilet seat down. I wasn't going to try to make him do this because I don't want to clean up pee on the outside of the toilet just yet. But school said that they are working on it, so we need to be consistent with him. Any and all advice would be so helpful.

On Cloud Number 9

I am on cloud number 9.

I was trying to fall asleep for a little nap on the couch before the Super Bowl started. Cael came up and started cuddling with me. I love cuddling, so I made room for him. Whenever we lay down together, Cael always makes snoring noises. So I copied him. Than he said, "Baby my don't cry". I looked at him for a second and than it hit me. He was singing me to sleep. I will sing Baby Mine from Dumbo sometimes when I am laying with him. I don't know all the words so I only sing the first verse over and over because I love it. My heart melted. I almost cried. Cael is talking more and more, but he still doesn't talk that much.

Motherhood. This is what makes it worthwhile.

I'll try to get him to do it on camera, but don't hold your breathe. Cael does everything when he wants to and not a second sooner.

Here are the lyrics, if you don't know what song I'm talking about.

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

Little one when you play
Don't you mind what they say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for
The right to hold you

From your head to your toes
You're so sweet, goodness knows
But you're so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine
