Christmas Eve

We had a crazy busy, crazy Christmas Eve in the Turner house.

First off we were having a Christmas party with the whole Turner family that night. So Bonnie was cooking and cleaning like crazy. I was going to help her when I got home from work and finish wrapping a few last minute things.

I had to work 8-4:30. No biggie. Or so I thought.

At about 3:30 I got a call from Leisa. And a minute later I got a call from Ryanne. I knew something was up so I took a quick break to see what was going on. No answer on Leisa's phone, no answer on Ry's phone. I see that Leisa left me a voicemail, so I listen to it. She said that Cael dropped a bar stool on his big toe and she thinks he needs stitches. So I call her back. She tells me what happened and that it is still bleeding a lot and he won't let anyone touch it. Cael has had other little accidents like this and he won't let anyone touch his ouchie. But nothing else had been that bad. So I leave work about 45 minutes early and rush home. As soon as I walk in I can tell that this is much worst than anything else he has had. He is sweating like crazy and crying pretty bad. So I pick him up and sit him in my lap. I can tell that we will need to make the dreaded trip to Urgent Care. I asked Adam to go check online to make sure it is open on Christmas Eve. I tried calling them but no one answered. I know that he is going to need stitches with sedation without even seeing his toes yet. So off Leisa, Ryanne, Cael, and I go to Urgent Care.

Once we get to Urgent Care, we get in pretty quickly. I unwrap his toe to see it for the first time. Ouch!!! It is much worst than I thought it would be. His toe is purple from the toenail up. His toenail is still on but looks like it will be falling off shortly. The doctor takes a look at it. Not a very good one because Cael still doesn't want anyone to look or touch it. She agrees that it needs stitches and he will need to be sedated to do it. So off she sends us to Children's Hospital ER. At least they call ahead and tell us that we are coming down.

We get to Children's ER and they are calling us back before I've even walked away from the registration desk. Awesome. We won't be here all night. I talk to the nurse and he asked what happened, yada yada, yada. He moves us into a room and they start a movie for him. We wait to see the doctor. She says the same thing that he will need an x ray and sedation for stitches. He was able to get into x ray pretty quickly. So I thought that the process wasn't going to take forever. But than we wait and wait and wait. I think we got there at a little after 5:30 but he wasn't sedated until 9ish. He was thirsty and hungry, but he couldn't eat or drink anything for 4 hours before he was sedated. No problem with that since we were the ones waiting for them all night. It took them about 20 minutes to do the stitches. We were called back in when he was starting to wake up. He was in and out of it for about 20 minutes, so they gave him an iv to help flush his system. He was asleep at this point because it was like 10:30 or so. They finally start to get everything together for us, so that we can go home. Prescription and some dressings so that I can change his bandages while we are home. He also has to wear a little boot on his foot for a week. I almost laughed at that. Cael hates clothes and shoes. I can't hardly keep him dressed while we are out, let alone while he is at home. We finally get to leave the hospital at 11. So I stop by a 24 hour pharmacy and pick up his antibiotics on our way home.

When we get home he opens a few presents and we put on his Christmas jammies, well the top at least. We were all exhausted so we finished putting out presents under the tree and went to bed.

All in all Cael fractured the very tip of his toe, got 9 stitches, and will probably never regrow his toenail.

Here is a picture of Christmas morning. You can see Cael in his boot. Did I mention that Cael went to the ER in his underwear and a t shirt only?!?

Thanksgiving

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. Cael, Everett, and I made a quick trip to Grand Terrace for Thanksgiving with the family. It was so good. I cried so much. I love my family so much and hate that I don't get to see them that often.

The Christian's. I love this picture. I haven't seen all of my dad's family together in so long. From left to right. Dad, Uncle Mark, Grandpa Doc, Grandma Linda, Uncle Donnie, and Aunt Kathy.

I got to see my Ry girl. She is growing up. It makes me feel so old. She is 13 now. WHAT?!? Where did the time go? I was 15 when she was born. She is almost as tall as me. I love you Ry.

Cael being silly. He is cracking up here for some reason. Love that boy.

Everett cheesing it up for the camera. He is getting so big too. Love him also.

The Galyan Gang. I love this picture because I know that is how my family looks and acts when we are trying to get a decent picture of everyone together. Love you guys.

Everett

After all those posts about Cael, I needed to show some pictures of my other cute boy.

Everett is doing great with the potty training. He still has an occasional accident, but he is getting better at telling me he needs to go or by going by himself sometimes.

He is silly as ever.

Making a Popeye face. Arrgghhhh.

Trying to make his break to the soccer game.

First Day of Kindergarten

Cael is in Kindergarten now. Here are a few attempts at pictures before his first day of school. He wasn't really in the mood for pictures, so you know how that goes.

His teacher's name is Miss Katie Johnson. She is great so far. Cael likes her a lot and is doing well in school. His IEP is coming up soon, so I will be able to get to know her a little better myself.

Spelling

Cael is learning how to spell at school. One night Adam and I came home from a date and found this on the kitchen floor. Cael loves the Princess and the Frog. It totally brought tears to my eyes. My little boy is growing up.

Soccer Season

Cael has started playing soccer this year. He likes it sometimes and hates it sometimes. There is lots of bribing going on during soccer. "If you make 5 goals we will go play on the playground for a little while." He is on a VIP team, so there are lots of great players that he gets to play with. When they have their games on Saturday mornings, they play against girls that are probably 11-12. So the girls pair up with one of the kids and they work with them on passing and shooting. It is really cute and the girls show such kindness and love to each of their buddies. I wish that I would have been able to do that for younger players too.

Everett is super jealous that he isn't old enough to play yet. He runs on the field atleast once a week trying to join the team. Don't worry Ev, you will be playing very soon.

Here are some pictures from his first practice.

Passing the ball with Mommy.

Shooting goals on Jacob, he is the coaches son and he is awesome with the kids.

Jumping skills.

Winding up for a big kick. I think that I balance myself like that too, with both my arms out.

Pre-K Graduation

Cael graduated from pre-k back in June. He is showing off his diploma. He had the best teacher, Miss Diana. He learned so much from her this year and we wish that she would move up with him each year. She is such a positive person and very thoughtful. I love the shirts that she made for each of the boys in the class. It has all the boys hand prints and names. It only works because he had eight boys in his class, I don't think that you'd be able to fit 20+ hand prints on a shirt for a regular sized classroom. I am so proud of Cael and how much he has learned and grown this year. Kindergarten here he comes.

Cael Turned 5

Back in June, Cael turned 5. Wow. I tell you what, wow. I can't believe how fast those five years have gone by, but at the same time it feels like he has been a part of our family forever.

Here are just some pictures of him on his day. We love you so much Cael.

Honey wanted to help open the presents too.

He got new Toy Story toys.

He is excited to be 5.

I heart Glee

Where to begin?!?

Okay, way back in May, Adam and I went to a Glee Live concert. It was our birthday presents to each other. It was so much fun. Here are a few pictures from our little birthday date.

Me showing my Glee pride.

Eating at Bubba Gump before the concert. You'll get it if you watch the show.

Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. I like their version much more than Gaga's. We saw the concert before this episode aired, so it was cool getting a sneak peek as to what was coming up in the show.

The boys mash up. It was so good.

We had so much fun and have made a deal that we will try to go again if they do another set of concerts.

Finally Updating

I am uploading pictures from my camera now. It has only been 5 months since I did it last. I don't have time to post anything now, but I PROMISE I will start "catching up" tomorrow. Hahaha. Famous last words.

We Did It

Our house closed escrow today. Yay. We are going to be moving this weekend. Let's hope that it cools down before Saturday.

And in other news, I got a job today. I'll be working at Vons again. I'll be starting off as a courtesy clerk again. But a job is a job. And I need some more adult interaction.

Love you all. I probably won't be back for a few days. I'll be busy.

Happy Birthday to You

What can I say about you Ry Ry? I can't believe that you are 13 years old. I remember that time like it was yesterday. Painting your room purple, going to Lamaze with your mom, spending the first night at the hospital after you were born. You have grown into such a great young woman. I am so proud of you for joining the church and staying strong in your faith. I hope you know how much you mean to our family. You are the first niece and granddaughter. We will always love you more than you'll ever know.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of you.

Quick Update....

I've been really bad a blogging, I know, I know. So I thought that I'd do a quick update for the three of you that read my blog. There are no new pictures because the cord that goes from my camera to the computer is MIA.

*The house is coming along. The counter tops are all in and they start the flooring next week. Yay. This will be so exciting. It will feel really close once that is done.

*Cael has a week left of summer school. :( He does so good when he is in school, so the following three weeks are going to be rough. Especially since we will be moving the first weekend after school starts. Yay.

*I am trying to find some part time work in the evenings. This is so frustrating. Since I haven't worked in four years and I only want to work in the evenings, they just overlook my application. I know that if they would just give me a chance I will impress them with my work. I have given over to the Lord because I know it will happen when it is right for me.

Love you all and I will try to be better at updating occasionally.

Adam, I love you so much. Thank you for all that you do for our family. Thank you for going to work each day, so that I can be home with the boys.
