Sorry all but this is going to be a poop post

Today was an awesome day for Cael.

A little background Cael has been pee trained since October 2008. But whenever he needs to poop he asks for a diaper. He hates to sit on the toilet and push. I didn't really care about it because I knew that it would take some time.

So the week of Mother's Day Cael smeared poop all over the bedroom door THREE days that week. He seemed to be doing it every other day. I was at wits end. We needed to start really working on getting him to poop in the toilet. So I started sitting with him, bribing him to poop. If he pooped on the toilet he got a movie, or a red (a slurpie for Target), or a purple (berry smoothie from Costco), or ice cream, or a ride in the car. Whatever he was interested in that day. We would sit in the bathroom for a half an hour at a time if that was how long it took. He starting really getting it around the 17th of the month. I was so proud of him. He wasn't telling me he had to go, I was just making him sit on the toilet every night before bed or when I saw him in his, I need to poop stance. He was doing it. He was getting it.

So today while I was working outside. Grammy was watching the boys. I came inside to get a hammer. She asked me if I'd seen Cael go outside. I hadn't so I went upstairs looking for him. He is often found upstairs taking a bath when we can't find him downstairs. So my first place to look was the master bathroom. I go in there, but I didn't hear the water running. I turn the corner to see Cael sitting on the toilet. So I ask him, did you go poo-poo Cael? Yay, I poop is his response. He had already flushed, so I didn't see it. But I did have to wipe his butt, so I know he did it. ALL BY HIMSELF!!! Yay Cael. He figured it out. He didn't need me to brib him anymore. I couldn't be more proud. I was hoping that he would be completely potty trained by his birthday. His birthday is next Tuesday.

Can I just say that days like this make the difficult days totally worth it. I can do it. We can do it. All is good.

Potty Training

Everett is doing so good with the potty training. He still isn't telling me when he needs to go to the bathroom, but I am pretty good at recognizing his ques so I can usually get him to the bathroom in time.

In other potty training news Cael is finally understanding pooping on the potty. Yay. He has gone poop on the toilet 7 times in the last 8 days. That is so good for him. He still fights me sometimes about sitting there but I am determined. Sometimes we sit there for 30 minutes before he goes, other times he goes right away. I sure hope it continues. *Knock on wood*

And a question put out to everyone. When do you start putting them to bed without a diaper? Everett hasn't worn a diaper to bed for the last 5 days. Three dry nights, two wet nights. And Cael didn't wear one either last night and woke up dry. But I really don't want to be washing bedding everyday.

New House

Here is our new house. It is suppose to be complete at the end of August so there is still lots that needs to be done. But I thought that I'd just show you want it looks like right now.

I am so excited.

He Is Here

Jill and Neil are the happy parents of three girls and one boy. Congrats to the Galyan family with the addition of your little man.

He was born a little before 6 p.m. on May 20th. Weighting 7 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 19 1/4 inches.

I can't wait to meet him. I love that he evened out the nieces and nephews to 4 and 4.

The parents haven't announced the name yet, so I can't tell you anything either.

Jill is going to have her baby boy today. I will keep everyone updated when I find out more.


Update
Jill started having contractions last night, so the doctor checked her and she was dilated. So they are delivering the baby at 5:30.

Potty Training

So potty training has been going really well so far. Everett is doing really good. He still has accidents, but he isn't telling me he has to go, I am just taking him every 30-60 minutes. He doesn't wear a diaper during naps and generally wakes up dry in the morning. He has pooped on the potty three days in a row. I am super excited because I love not changing diapers all the time.

And the cherry on top was that Cael pooped in the potty today. Yay. I am so excited and I hope that it continues. Right now Cael is using more diapers a day than Everett is. Weird I know. One for pooping, one at night. I am hoping that by the end of the summer both of my boys will be completely diaper free. That will be so awesome. Wish me luck.

GLEE

I know that I have been slacking majorly lately. I will try to catch everyone up on what is going on soon.

But for today I want to talk about GLEE.

I love the show GLEE on Fox. If you haven't seen it before you are missing out. It is so fun. The new season starts next Tuesday after American Idol. If that wasn't good enough. Adam and I just got our tickets for their concert in LA next month. That is our birthday presents to each other. I am so excited for it. I have both of the Glee CD's and I listen to them pretty much every time I'm in the car. I will sing along and just enjoy my time in the car. Even Cael and Everett like watching Glee. And I never say no when they say they want to watch the DVD.

Man I sound like a crazy person, but I don't care.

Easter

Easter this year was fun. Cael and Ev were both understanding the candy finding part a little better, but it kills me that they want to stop after each egg and eat the candy before finding more.

I am so thankful for the Easter season. So we can all reflect on Christ and his Atonement. I am so thankful for the Atonement in my life. I know that I am a better and happier person because of it. I know that He suffered a lot because of me, but that I will be forgiven if I ask for forgiveness and repent of my sins. I love Christ and Heavenly Father and am so grateful for my knowledge and love of them.

Mac N Cheese

We took the boys to Chuck E Cheese today to waste some time. We thought the boys would like it and they did. For whatever reason Cael calls it Mac N Cheese instead of Chuck E Cheese. It is so funny because he asks to go every time he sees a commercial for it or whenever we drive by it.
He loved this little ride and just laughed the whole time. It was pretty funny. He just wanted to watch the same video over and over again. We might take Cael there for his birthday. Not a party, but just for him. I wish that he had cousins that lived down here so they could come along too. Maybe one day.

One Step Closer

Everett did it again. He pooped in the potty this morning.

Everett Turns Two

Here are some pictures from Everett's second birthday. It was really low key, but he still enjoyed it. I can't believe that he is two already. Time is flying by way too fast. He is such a sweet and cute boy. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. He also likes to copy everything that Cael does. If Cael is jumping while dancing than so is Everett. It is so cute. I love Everett so much and am so thankful that he joined our family.















I let Everett pick out his cake and he wanted Wall-E. It turned out really cute, plus they play with the figurines now too.





















Everett loves watching Mommy play soccer, so we got him a set so he can play too. He is pretty good too.
















He likes playing with phones and remotes, so he got his own.
















My boys loves balloons, so I always like to get them a bunch to help them enjoy their day even more.

Happy 2nd Birthday Everett

I can't believe it but our little Everett is two years old. That was the fastest two years ever. He is getting so big. He is such a crazy monkey that climbs on EVERYTHING. He also has to do everything that his brother does. I often call him Monkey Do because he sees Cael and copies him right away. He has his two year appointment next week, so I'll be able to give the stats. But I am going to guess and we'll see how close I am to what is right.
Beki's guesses: weight 31 pounds and height 31 inches.
Real stats: weight 31 and 1/2 pounds and height is 34 inches.
When I took him to the doctors today, he feel asleep before he got his shot. So they gave it to him while he was asleep. He opened his eyes and acted like he was going to cry, but decided to keep sleeping. It was so funny and nice. He is so strong and fights it whenever he is getting shots, but he was the perfect kid today.
